Vouchers

If you would like to have a Foodbank Voucher please talk to a social worker, the CAB, Probation Officer, your local Children’s Centre or the H&F Credit Union. Some Churches and Drs Surgeries are also signed up to the scheme.. You may be asked to provide evidence that you are in need.

Thinking about being a voucher distributor

If you would like to distribute Food Vouchers to your clients, then the following information will be helpful. Please also read the Distributors Handbook and follow the instructions which are given in it.

The primary objective of the H&F Foodbank is to meet the needs of those in the community who are in crisis – and short of food. We supply all clients who are referred to us by local frontline care providers using our voucher system, with 3 days of nutritionally balanced food which has been approved by a dietician. We are one of more than 70 Foodbanks now open in the UK. The first Foodbank was founded by The Trussell Trust in Salisbury about 10 years ago (www.TrussellTrust.org). Last year more than 40,000 people were fed by Foodbanks.

All food is donated by the public via food collections held at supermarkets, churches and schools, and is all within its ‘use-by’ date.

We are based in Fulham and open twice a week (on Tuesdays from 10.30am until 1.00pm and on Fridays from 2.00pm until 4.30pm) to give out food via our café-style Distribution Centre. Hot drinks and home made snacks are also served, and a listening ear provided by one of our volunteers. We are currently looking for a second Distribution Centre in Shepherds Bush or White City.

The Distributors Handbook explains in more detail how the voucher system works, and the information you need should you decide to ‘partner’ with us.
