Since we opened at the end of June 2010, the Hammersmith & Fulham Foodbank has provided food for almost 200 people – which is 2000 meals. (more…)

We really appreciate your continued support and interest in Foodbank.  Daphine is making more contacts with possible voucher holders and is finally seeing the fruit of all the work she has put in.  We have quite a varied group of front line community workers prepared to be voucher holders already with hopefully more on the way.  Please pray for her as she interacts with key people in the community that they would hear what she has to say and catch the vision. A massive thank you to all our supporters for helping with our first food collection at Sainsbury’s Sands End on Saturday May 15. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make it such a successful day, to all of those of you who prayed and released family members to come and help, and to the staff of Sainsbury’s who welcomed and assisted us with such enthusiasm.
The ground had been well prepared as the store had been making announcements all the previous week about the collection and some people had already been shopping and had left bags of food before we even arrived. (more…)

Welcome to our second newsletter. So much has happened since our last newsletter and things are changing everyday – even since the first draft of this letter was prepared! Last Sunday, Daphine gave both the morning and evening services at Christ Church Fulham an update on the Foodbank and our launch plans. Stuart Lees then led the entire Church in prayer on both occasions – and of course – there has already been a shift in 3 areas. (more…)

The last few weeks have been very busy with the many aspects of setting up our foodbank, including setting up a database of all those who have volunteered to help us. We would like to thank all of you who have volunteered for your patience during this process and many thanks to Paul Redding for setting up the database and getting us started. It is our hope to send out regular newsletters to keep you updated with our progress. This project will not work without you. (more…)
